Michelle is an English artist and illustrator who takes inspiration from mythology, folklore, ancient cultures, archaeology, shamanic and mystical traditions, the forms and forces of nature, and her own imagination. She admires and is influenced by the work of illustrators Aurthur Rackham, Aubrey Beardsley, Ivan Bilibin, Alan Lee and Brian Froud, artists Leonardo Da Vinci and Durer, as well as some modern surreal, expressionist and abstract artists, and artistic movements such as the Pre-Raphaelites, the Symbolists, ancient Celtic and Norse artwork, and Japanese woodblock prints.
Working in a versatile range of media and styles, she loves to experiment and try out new things, whilst always returning to develop and hone her skills in previous areas. Her art has been used for book illustrations, magazines, CD covers, card games, and has been sold as both prints and original pieces worldwide.
You are welcome to display her art on websites, blogs, etc if it is used respectfully, remains unaltered and uncropped, clearly credits her and provides a link back to this website.
